Progress on my black LX 410/410RW (PICS)
Finally got the new front suspension done on my black LX. Installed MaximumMotorsports CC plates, ModularMustangRacing coil overs, Strange adj. struts, AJE K-member, D&D A-arms, & EnergySuspension motor mounts. Also installed some BBK 1 3/4" LT's with cleaned ports & Dr.Gas 3" collectors.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Had to grind the nipple off the motor mounts to fit the K-member ![]() ![]() Cleaned up ports ![]() New header on left (3" collector) , old header (2.5") on the right ![]() Next on the list is to finish off the full 3" exhaust, torque box reinforcement, rear suspension, new lighter seats (get rid of theses heavy leather stockers!), & still debating on installing my VOSS Performance CAI, 75mm TB, & EGR delete plate for more air flow... I'd like a drag suspension that's still very streetable & simple. I'm definately going with the BaselineSuspensions upper control arm kit & Strange adjustable shocks. What lower control arms should I go with?

looks like the header gasket is real thin on the top and bottom of that header flange because of that port job....you know how people have problems with them sealing...make sure those bolts are tight or i see a blown header gasket in the future...taking into consideration all the stuff your doing to your car i think you know that already...just thought i'd mention it. somebody had to say something bad about all the stuff your doing lol
....on a good note looks like you got a kick ass setup that will be sure to put some impressive numbers down keep up the good work

Yeah I forgot to say, "That's a practice header gasket in the pic!" LOL! I did pretty much #### that one up! I did use another set & it really came out nice. I don't think I'll have a problem with it leakin, but I'll keep my fingers crossed

We had to grind off the studs too to fit them on the UPR kit. If you look at how they fit on the factory k member it is scary, one side, I think the drivers side actually does not sit flush and square off the block, the motor mounts will actually crack the urethane due to the binding stress. We thought that we had the wrong motor mounts, and then decided to grind the nubs off too.

Update:
Here's some more parts that just came from UPS. Dr.Gas 3" X-pipe & Flowtubes, Thrush Welded chambered mufflers (Flowmaster lookalikes), & Flowmaster 3" turndowns. Hopefully with the opened up headers & full 3" exhaust I gain a little bit. Inside the X: ![]() Almost identicle to Flows, material & everything for $30! ![]() ![]() Just gotta get it welded together soon! ![]() ![]()

Well so much for keeping it quieter! Exhaust is all welded up. Everything tucked up nicely with the Dr.Gas stuff. The longtubes actually hang lower than the rest of the exhaust. Took a sound/video clip, but was very distorted. Will try again when I go back. These Thrush mufflers sound very deep. Similar to the old school Flowmasters.

Good job on that exhaust! That is about as good as it gets! You are as picky as me on exhaust I see. I am building a 460 car and the exhaust is just like that except I have the three bolt collectors that are 31/2. I am thinking about getting some ballflanges to do away with those. Also im oing to get me some j bends and try to build me some tailpipes to exit behind the rear tires. I get a headache from them fumes riding around town! Good job, where did you get your pipe and stuff?

Nice job on the exhaust! Looks like it tucks up about as well as it can for 3" stuff.

and the nice thing about the trush mufflers are that they will not rust like the cheaper and quieter 'flows will. i ran them on my car for over a year, had to take them off for a while because everyone could hear everything that i did

No cooling issues. It's actually a small B-Cool drag radiator & PT Cruiser electric fan with a manual switch. I've driven it on some real hot days up to about a 100 mile trip with no issues. Been thinkin I should get a bigger radiator tho.

Looks NICE!...Probably 425/425 now....
Whats the top-end consist of? If the 75mm t/b is not on there then ur definitely losing. Put that on there, and you'll probably be over 430 when u go back to the dyno. |

Haven't messed with anything on the inlet. Still has the 70mm. Don't really wanna have to get it re-tuned.
