What are y'all getting in real world driving on the interstate with the 5speed? Convertible drivers will help more as well. And yes I mean a real Mustang, so V8 only.

Pure highway with little to no traffic, I usually got around 22-23mpg with my 2010 5spd GT.
My 2012 gets around 24 straight highway if I keep my foot out of it. This is crusing between 75-80 in both cars.

With my 2010 GT 5spd, I see between 25.5 and 26 mpg on the highway and that's with factory 3.73's. The factory window sticker fuel ratings list the car at 24 so that's actually a slight improvement. My driving style is moderate and usually in the area of 70-75mph.
I don't know what it does city because 95% of my driving is all highway (back and forth to work). And, my car is all stock except for an axleback. It even has the stock paper air filter. That's going next though for a drop-in K&N and maybe I'll squeeze out another .5 to 1 mpg extra.

Roush supercharger equipped 06 GT 5-speed, 3.55 gears, not very easy on her and I get about 22 MPG highway and about 19-20 combined with very little stop and go traffic.

wow...whats up with my car then?? 05 GT 5spd 4.10 gears 95% stop and go around town driving. I can't get more than 15mpg. Most times I am at 13mpg. I just did a 160 mile freeway trip and got 17.2mpg. I live 1.3 miles from work. I run a Bren speed 93 street tune. I have 53k miles. Maybe it's time for new spark plugs and 02 sensors??

I live very close to work as well and it shows my mpgs on the display dropping about 1 point each day I drive it. My guess is living that close to work that the car never gets fully up to operating temperature and remains running a little rich. So in town I've gotten as bad as 15, but usually averaging 18. I can run it back up again though by simply driving it out in the country or highways on the weekends to get it to say 20+ again.

Stock 05GT coupe with manual and SLP's, 3:55 gears. Hwy tends to average 26-28 cruising with the windows down @ 70-75 mph. About the same with ac on. I don't drive like a granny either. City is anywhere from 14 to 20 depending on traffic and my foot. Don't get any mpgs just sitting still idleing.
I've also noticed with ethanol laced gas these hwy numbers drop 2-3 mpgs. Last edited by White05GT; 07-10-2011 at 10:10 PM. |

I am calling bull on some of those mileages. 4.10 at 26mpg, yeah right. I have a stock2010 GT five speed, cruising at 70-75, I get 24-25 mpg with cruise on. With gear changes, are your speedos correct?

I also would say highway driving is about 23-25
I average about 16 but I can't help but push the supercharger.

I have a 5spd manual coupe, and 4.10's running a 93 octane custom dyno tune. I average 22 MPG pretty much all summer driving small towns/rural roads. Road trips I'll see 24 MPG running 75mph mostly. No bull...yes I do WOT from time to time. Speedo is correct and MPG's have been the same for years!
I lost about 1 MPG going from 3.55's to 4.10's on average.

![]() With 3.31 on a flat highway between 70-75 mph (pre-blower) I could get between 25-27 mpg... (my 2001 with 3.27's got 28 mpg). With 3.73's and the blower, I have seen ~23 mpg on the highway. Usually 17 mpg mixed. Rpm's kill highway mpg. ....

I do lots of hwy and get into it at times. The car CAN get more if you "granny " it. That being said, the no bs number is 23 hwy all day long. 24 if I am real easy on it and ..more if I feather it? That would be non-real worl though..bc you would REALLy be feathering it.

Seems like in town high teens is normal and these cars tend to do low to mid twenties on the highway without a problem. My results have been the same in those conditions. With that said, I just wanted to chime in that I got 29.something mpg with the cruise set at 65 and not touching either the brake or gas pedal for 2 hours. '05 GT with k&n and a dyno tune.
I've found if I do 70-75 like I'd want to, I just end up running into someone's butt, even in the left lane, as there are just too many people in Chicagoland, and they don't know how to merge or get in an appropriate lane for their speed. Plus, if you've been on a bike with no windscreen, you know the air pushes you much harder at 75 than it does at 65. It adds up. Have fun and be safe |

So places with the 10% meth in the gas the mileage goes down about 2-3mpg. Thats what the local dealer told me anyway. I live in the Northeast and they add all sorts of save the planet stuff to the gas. Thats good but I was just wondering why I struggle to get in the 20mpg range with my car. Then my buddy in his Mazdaspeed3 was bitchin too about lower than average MPGs and the reason that was told to him is the high meth content in the Northeast gas.....Just thought Id throw that out there and see the responses. Don't get me wrong..MPG is not a major concern to me **UNLESS** it's a sign of a problem with my car.
