tractor supply 4x6' tilting trailer hooked up to a curt hitch. big time PITA to get the hitch mounted in tandem with my FRPP sport exhaust and without access to a grinder/cutter, but with a lot of patience, it eventually bolted on.

it can fit 295/30R18 hoosiers mounted on 18x10 wheels just barely four wide. room enough to fit eight total, as well as a big ass box and a spare. a friend of mine welded on the removable locking crossbars and lower supports. very handy i must say

Three in the back seat, one in the spare-tire well. Who needs a trailer? :-)

Best "set-up" I ever saw, though, was a guy with a Marauder who had all four in the trunk. Boy, was I envious!

I also looked at the tractor supply 4x6' trailer since it would have room for tires, a bin and some gas cans but if I get a spec miata like I plan to, I'm afraid that it'll be too big for that little car.

I'll probably go the HF route like most of the AutoX trailers I've seen.

Mine was an 8'X4' from Harbor Freight. It was too big for what I wanted to do so I cut it in half and relocated the axle and now it's a 4'X4'. Painted it black and added a sheet of diamond plate. Then I made my own tire rack using thick pieces of diamond plate for the sides and added a storage box from Home Depot. Works very well. I've used it many times. I've takin it as far as Daytona which is 4 hours away from me.

On a side note: About a year after I built it I found out Harbor Freight sells 4'X4' ones. Didn't matter really since I bought mine used for real cheap. Cheaper then buying the new 4'X4' anyways.

4 x 8 folding trailer from HF as well.

Gone now, but suited my needs very well.

I had a HF 4x4' trailer that I bought used. I'm sure it would've been great if I had ever gotten around to putting a hitch on one of my cars.

The one thing I've heard is that you should get the 12" wheels vice 8" wheels to help prolong bearing life by keeping RPMs down.

'89 GT convertible, N/A 357W, MM front susp w/425# coil-overs and Koni D/As, MM TA/PB rear setup (Koni Yellows, 390-430# springs), Stoptech 332mm / 12" Baers, MM 6 point rollbar, Maier 1.5" flared fenders & quarters, 18x9.5" front/18x10.5" rear Enkei RPF-1s (street), 18x10" CCW C-10s (track), etc...

Ended up buying the HF 48x40" trailer on sale for under $200.

I'm also looking at the HF but I came across a Carry-On 4x5 trailer sold by Lowes. It seems to be of better quality, as it should for $388. By my measurements, it'll be big enough to hold the tires, toolbox and a pair of fuel jugs in between.

Should be small enough for a Spec Miata to pull, which I'm currently looking at purchasing so I don't beat on the Cobra as much.

Only problem is, Lowes doesn't sell trailers in Colorado so it looks like I'll have to make a run up to Cheyenne, WY. Will I get harrassed by the cops if the trailer doesn't have plates but I have the bill of sale in hand? or should I just throw it in the back of the pickup?

I would get the hitch on your car first, and the wiring, so at the very least, all they can cite you for is registration, and then you probably have 30 days to correct the problem. No big deal.. And yes, if you have the bill or receipt, the cop would have to be a hardass to write a ticket for that... Just my opinion.
