Yeah my mom was reading the questions to me tonight. She said she is just filling in the number of people and that is it. I wonder how many are going to be complete and total idiots and fill out the whole ####ing thing?

It was complete when it was sent in. You must be mistaken...because complete is a count of the persons as this residence.

They say it is to get funding for your area and more/less people in governemnt for your area...... I don't know why they need to know your race/age for this.

Also the phone number question is funny, how can you not understand the answer to multiple choice question's?

It gets better than that. They ask you what type of home you live in: Mobile, house, rental. They also are asking if you own, rent, or have a mortgage. When I get mine in the mail I will scan it and post it up here. Ri####ingdiculus.

All they got was how many are living here and that we all are American. If that warrants an explanation or investigation than so be it.

(b) Whoever, when answering questions described in subsection (a) of this section, and under the conditions or circumstances described in such subsection, willfully gives any answer that is false, shall be fined not more than $500. To the best of my knowledge all homes have a public record of the owner(s) as well as any liens on them. Additionally, I know the IRS is well aware of who lives here, when they were born and much more than that. Further, after millions of years of human evolution, it's quite absurd to gather self-reported 'race' data from people that are not only a blend of tens of thousands of races but are much more likely to be wrong in their guestimates. Government redundant? By definition.

I gave them a headcount, my phone number, and a note. They can call me if they still need an explanation; I'll need one as well.

Since Census Day is 1APR10, does that mean I can pull an April Fool's joke on the gubmint and fill in completely inaccurate information?

I found it interested that everything in reference to April 1 is in past tense. Does that mean we can't fill it out until April 2nd?

Those are random, not the typical.

I filled ours out a couple weeks ago, the only thing I wrote on the entire form was "03"

There are 3 people in this house. They don't need to know race or anything else. No particular race is supposed to be worth more than the other, we're all counted as 1 each, I think?

I filled out the whole thing because I don't care if they know. They aren't the only ones that will know my name, how old I am and whether I own my house. The only thing I didn't give them was my phone number. Funny thing is, there are just enough boxes for the phone number to spell NOTHANKYOU and I listed our race as American.

This is B.S. I hope one of the comedians does a skit on the census deal.

I keep hoping some redneck takes it on himself to rid the country of this rabid dog thats biting this country in its neck.

Got my census form. Reading it, I am trying to get worked up like you guys are...............but I don't see it.

That being said, I am filling out 3, sealing it, and sending it in. Those who filled out a census 10 years ago, what was asked then?

All questions are required by law. It's right there in the constitution.

"The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct."

I hope you all pay extra on your taxes to pay for the census takers that will be stopping by, and don't forget to pay your fine.

Many of these questions were asked 20 years ago - what are you trying to get at?

Art, prohibition was 'required by law'. Look what that got us. What's another tree fiddy for a census worker to stop by when Obamanation is going to drive this country into the ground with 'health' care?

Ever heard of civil disobedience?

I'll gladly pay the $100 fine just to tell the census workers to get the #### off my property.

The only reason I can see for the race and sex questions is to ashcan the white returns, so a black can become my representitive.I'm not racist, just using common sense. Remember BHO wanted the census forms returned to the Whitehouse, not the Commerce dept. I figure he'll have one of his czars looking over their shoulder to get the results he wants...Signed, one bisexual, full blooded indian, two lesbian Chinese, and five little mixed race rugrats!

What am I trying to get at? Im trying to find out if these questions have been asked before or if this is a new thing. since it only comes around every 10 years and I was in college the last time and didn't recieve one. The time before that i was 14.....

IE, is there a thread from 10 years ago on here from everyone raising hell about the census? Was everyone this pissed 10 years ago? Just wondering.

10 years ago there were two forms.... The long and short. Not sure of the method of determining which one you got, but yeah, I only put the number of peeps in the house and (For Art) NEVER heard one thing back from the gov't.

Your interpretation of the above is questionable. The fragment you've emboldened is referring to the manner of enumeration, or how they do the counting, specifically.

It's that very "manner" where the current admin/congress will break out the creative math.
