nitrous and converters
got a question about my 95..i have had a custom 4k stall converter made bt TCT to go with my Dynamic compition c-4..it was made for a 450-500hp on motor application..what is ganna happen when i put a big shot on top of this..right now i have lillte dry kit that im selling in favor for a nx 300 shot plate setup as i am running a R302/347..now what will happen when i go to spray this much on that converter..note i will be spraying as soon as she hooks as i have ben doing on the street(but in stick cars)
thanks alot! matt

Your setup sounds alot like my combination...except for I'm running a built AOD. I was told my 4200 nonlockup converter will stall to around 5000 when I launch on a 150 shot...a bit higher with even more nitrous.

If your converter was not designed with nitrous in mind then you are going to blow right through that converter. In other words, you will have way too much slippage and it will hurt your times and possibly the converter as well! Talk to the guy who built your converter!

Yes...I've been a bit dissapointed in the et's with the aod on motor. But..I had the converter spec'ed with street driving and the nitrous in mind...so I wasn't shocked that it slowed up that much.

regardless your et's from the old motor are still better than anything I've run so far! I don't get to the track much so that hurt's me a little, hopefully soon I will have it all worked out I'm shooting for 9.99 1/4 mile ET'S with stock shortblock and dry nitrous!

WE went 9's with stock block. The block was broke with in 6 months too. Not a good idea. Just bite the bullet and atleast get the B302 block.
