Here are your options:

1. unbolt the air pump and slide the filter into the fender and install the densecharger in the "Up" position(like I have mine). Then re-install the air pump to the stock location.

OR

2. Relocate the Air pump. You could slide it forward about 1.5" on the same part it is currently attached to, but I am not sure if that will still provide enough room to run in the "down" position. From looking at my cobra, I think you could also relocate it to the metal flange that the fog lights bolt to. You might also look at installation instructions from some different blowers(Procharger, Vortec, etc) because I believe on some blower you are required to relocate the air pump. My bet is that it is the Pro-Charger, but I am not sure.

I ran mine in the "Up" position because... a)I didn't want to hassle with relocating the air pump and b)John said that the "up" position tends to make the car run slightly leaner than running in the "down" position. Since my car was running pretty rich, I decided the "up" position was best suited for my application/situation.

Hope that helps.

I was able to get it in there with the air pump in place....

Remove the passenger tire, and take out a few screws from the wheelwell, peel back the lining, and start workin it in there. It's do-able....you'll have to drill your own holes in the fender pipe, (at least i had to) it takes a bit of 'finess' but it'll get in there. Easier with 2 people.

If I had to do it again, I'd definately remove the air pump....I'm in an emissions-free state, so I have that option.

Good luck!

I've always found descriptions of the "UP" position to be horribly misleading. What they mean by the "UP" position, is to completely remove the in-fender piping and place the filter directly behind the fender plate without using any of the elbows or piping beyond that point. I spent hours trying to figure this one out for myself. Good luck.

thats what i did with mine, however i needed to buy another piece. I dont think thats the "up" position though, I think thats literally putting the filter pointing up towards the fender

If you have offroad exhaust, the air pump is useless....
