Hey guys im looking for some advice on what i should do with this thing. I took the console out and i dont plan on putting it back in. I like the looks of it without it, reminds me of real muscle cars, and with bein carbed it kinda fits the bill anyways.

Ive been working on this cover/boot and i have the fitment done, now i just need to either paint or polish it. Im thinking paint the base to match the carpet OR paint it black to go with the two-tone. I couldnt use the typical boot with the chromed ring fastened to the floor because the hole in my carpet was cut rather large around the shifter area. Let me know your opinions please.

The knob sits up high in the pics but it be further down by the time its finished

Yeah, I stated my opinion on this before. It just doesn't look clean on these cars no matter how new the carpet and shift boots are. Its a cool idea I suppose, but so far nobody has executed it properly...I think it's just one of those things that was never meant to be.

Agreed. Even cars that didn't have bench seats from that era, and floor shifters don't look bad without the console. Like you said, it just doesn't look good on the newer gen stuff.

The console in my Nebraska SSP car is bobbed just behind the shifter, they cut it and trimmed the end out in vinyl, has a vinyl boot over the e-brake. Looks kind of cool IMO. Mostly because it's rare to see any that someone hasn't replaced it with a stock civilian unit console. I'll be leaving it as is, I may even have an upholstery shop redo it with new vinyl.

There were some Fox Mustangs that came through like that. I once owned a 79 notch that, I'm 99% sure didn't have a console. But those of course, had a different dash. The 87-93 are supposed to have a console, and like others have said, just look ridiculous without one imo.
