I've been talking with Miguel over at VRS exhaust about a set of 3" tailpipes for my '92 coupe. I mentioned the pros/cons of the Flowmaster tailpipe design and was told if I could get a group buy of at least 10 sets they would make them. So essentially they will be a full 3" mandrel bent tailpipe with the needed clearance for larger tires but with the hideous weld hidden from sight. I'm new to this "group buy" thing so I'm not sure how this all works but if any of you can enlighten me that would be great. Anyone interested?

Ok, here's the deal. Everyone who is placing an order should email Miguel/VRS at villar1@aol.com with your order/request. Miguel will provide you with their paypal account. Once they have payment or at least 50% deposit for all the orders, it will take 15 to 30 days to receive them depending on how busy they are at the time. You can reference my name, Dominic, and if there are any other questions feel free to ask Miguel or myself. Also, for those of you looking to leave the tips off or different angles on the tips etc, make sure to note that in your email. Thanks.

Alright and if we get a bunch of people to get a set the price could go down? Ill probably be putting in an order this weekend

So far we've got two orders placed aside from myself. Again, we need at least 10. All you need to do is put a 50% deposit down just as a reminder. Thanks guys.

If you mean different than the VRS standard tailpipes, yes. They will be routed under the corners of the tank a bit to give more tire clearance.

There are no photos as of yet because none have been made. They will be routed exactly the way your 3" Flowmasters are. I don't know exactly where the polished to non-polished transition will be but it will be back behind the tire. You could email Miguel and he may be able to give you a more detailed description. As of now we have no orders placed except for myself, I thought two orders had been placed but it was just two inquires.

Also just to refresh everyone, the price is $260, fully stainless, polished tips with no visible welds. For the person who requested aluminized, your price is $160.

im the guy who requested the standard tails. how/ who do i get ahold of for payment? do we need a deposit? and if we dont get a full 10 orders, do i get my money back ?

Any chance these can be done in 2.5" stainless? I need the Flowmaster 3" style routing to clear my 10" wheels but I don't need a 3" pipe.

Sent my order request in yesterday. Hopefully we can get 10 orders together and get these built.

Update: As of now there are no orders placed with the exception of mine. All orders will need to be placed before February 6th. Again you only need to put a 50% deposit down to place an order. If we get at least the 10 minimum orders then it will take 2-4 weeks for delivery. If not, then your payment will be refunded on the 6th so as not to leave people hanging wondering whether or not this is going to happen.

I sent Miguel an email with my order on Monday but I didn't get a response yet...I'll resend.

EDIT: Heard right back from him and my deposit is placed.

All I can say is hopefully these tail pipes fit better then the 3" SS X-pipe I bought from VRS. The header end of the x pipe was spaced incorrectly. The cat-back side of the x-pipe was a total mess. The ends didn't line up and the "short" pipe was to short and the "long" was to long. I called and send him emails with pictures showing the issues. He replied with that their jig was a used one that they got from another exhaust manufacturer. He offered a $50 credit. I told him the thing doesn't fit at all. He then informed that is was a special order/made and there was no refunds even though it was not fitting. I had a catted SS 2.5" x-pipe made from VRS already on the car. If you lay the 2 on top of each other they weren't even close. Over all it was a bad experience for me. I have a $300.00 x-pipe that is sitting in my garage that doesn't fit. I could cut it up and make it fit but, it's not worth the effort.

Awesome - 3 sets made followed by pics and positive feedback and they'll sell like hotcakes. Fingers crossed.
