1989 Saleen SSC 2,000 miles since new

Planning on offering this car for sale soon. It belongs to a client. Probably the best one left on the planet. A true time capsule, unmolested since new. Planning on asking somewhere near 50K. Opinions?

I will also have a sister to this car. Another '89 SSC that was used as a street, track, and strip car. All Saleen factoery additions are intact including roll bar, rear seat delete, 4 wheel discs, cockpit adjustable suspension, frame connectors, etc. . . Never damaged and still wears all of it's nearly flawless original paint. Near 750hp. Ran 10's at 135 15 years ago and handles like a slot car. Not a car for an unskilled driver. Difficult to smog in SoCal as it will pass a sniff test but not a visual. Planning on asking somewhere in the 25K ballpark.

Last one will be a 1988 Saleen Mustang, Anthracite Gray, also a time capsule with just 13,000 miles. Original everything and completely unmolested. Probably as nice of an '88 Saleen as you could find anywhere. Also in the 25K ballpark.

All three cars are clean CA title, one-owner, original Saleen vehicles that are worth whatever top-dollar should be if one is in the market for the best available.

Contact me for more information.

I am not a dealer. The owner is a detail client of mine and a good friend. I am simply assisting him with the sale of his cars. Any financial transaction will be directly with the owner. I'm just here to help move things along and do the leg work.

He will also have a 2001 Ford F150 Harley Davidson edition pickup with 7,000 miles and a Lincoln Blackwood pickup with 22,000 miles available, as well as a dragster with enclosed trailer.

Sounds like a nice collection of cars. I think 50k is a bit steep for an '89 SSC. Now if you had a SA-10, I still don't think you would get that. I'd be curious as to see what Performance Autosport would list it as.

As far as the second one, I love to hear what the supporting mods are! 10's on Racecraft suspension with 750hp is impressive.

This one appeared to be perfect.

The SSC are one of the most significant Fox Mustangs in my opinion. Although that ebay linkpresents well, there is plenty missing. Historically speaking, tbe SSC was the firse package to include engine mods. I feel that is important as the whole Fox movement would have been nothing without engine mods. I could go on, but my point is that many of the SSC have strengths which may not be appreciated due to people being uniformed.

Wrapper cars are cool, but they are kind of a shame too. At the end if the day, I think wrapper type SSC may be worth $50k though, even if the one on Ebay did't sell for $30k. The just is a lot more doccumentation and presentation that I would compile and keep with a wrapper car. Old pic of the car's history, like the day the owner took delivery and other things will only support the sale, but I'm stuggling to post at lenght from my phone.

As for the SA10 cars, I would love to see any doccumented transactions. My gut tells me they should be trading hands well above $50k.

I can't thank you guys enough for the input here and via PM's. I have done very limited research on these cars and truly know very little about them. The owner is far more well versed, and I will forward this thread to him for consideration when the time comes to nail down pricing and such. The owner is traveling right now so I'm just trying to do a little advance work and when he gets back in a week or so I will get them off the lifts for better photos. I will also go over all of the documentation with him as I realize how important that stuff is when you're trying to present a rare, time-capsule, benchmark type vehicle.

I have a few, marginal photos as the cars are stored overhead on drive-on type lifts in his garage.

Best regards,

Gar

Those are great ideas and I will work with the owner to locate any and all of those things.

Not like it is an SA-10, also a nice 91 SC on Craigs list for 39K, and they are a whole lot more rare.

How can you post this without pictures? Blows my mind. Corral should have a requirement. No pics, no for sale post.

1989 GT 5 speed with an overspun v1, intercooler, TFS heads and cam, GT40 intake.

Saleen SSC

The SSC is in the $25000 range not $50000. Depending on condition $25000 may be high.

The last SA-10 that sold was nearly $100k. A mint 2k mile SSC with all documentation may bring $40-45k.

Its only worth what somebody with burning pockets will pay.

$50k.... I'm buying a low mile GT-500.

Not knocking the OP and the vehicles he is offering. I would love to have any one of those or all three. LOL
