1980 Mercury Capri RS rolling chassis w/ cage $750 OBO

1980 Mercury Capri RS with factory air dam
Original flat-glass rear hatch with spoiler
Complete rolling chassis (no motor or trans)
6 point roll bar
8.8 rear end
Line lock
battery box in back
South side Machine lower control arms
15" turbine alloy wheels
Interior has been gutted, I have the dash and door panels
Original Paint (oxidized, but intact)
Body is very straight, doors open and close like brand new
almost no rust
clear TN title in hand

This would be a great starting point for a race car or street strip car. All the interchangeability of a Mustang, with a little originality. Will consider trades Located in knoxville TN

I do not have a hood for it, but glass Capri hoods are readily available from Kaenen.

The car is very rust free. Fenderwells, floor boards, under cariage, doors, rockers, all the usual places are rust free.

It has a very unusual, very small rust hole under the door molding on the drivers door. I assume that water was collecting under the door molding. It doesn't even have to be repaired though, it's so small the door molding would cover it up. (car does not have moldings on it)

there is also a small amount or rust on the inside of the hatch close to where it comes down over the tail lights. The hatch has also been drilled for louver mounting holes, and I did not get any louvers with the car. Because it is a flat-glass Capri, my plan was to just get a rust free Mustang hatch, and swap over the Capri wing onto it. If you wanted to repair the small amount of rust in this hatch and weld up the (4) 1/4" louver mounting holes, that would not be hard to do either.

If you are a serious buyer, I will wash the car, and take a ton of high res pics inside and out, to show you that it has almost no rust.

ILLINTENT, I may be interested in this car, but I will have to do some figuring on the financials as far as what I can do with it going forward. Car looks physically solid and it would be nice to resurrect a Capri. Lord knows they don't make them anymore, but it would be nice if they did.
