Good morning all.
I'm pretty good at harnessing 800hp on a daily after all my years of driving forced induction daily's, but every once in a while I forget how much hp I have on tap. Went to pull out in a tight window, tires were spinning but I'm already committed, let off throttle, finally grab traction so give it a little more gas, but too much, now the cop on the other side of the street is giving me the stink eye. Luckily, the stink eye was all I got. The power comes on so fast and so strong that if you just drive instinctively your instincts will get you in trouble. Just too much torque down low. I laugh at guys with other PD blowers who immediately install steeper gears, that's the last thing you need with a PD blower if you want any hope of hooking up on the street. Track may be a different story with slicks, but on the street, there isn't a tire that can hold that torque with steep gears. Even with my 3.31 gearing I must feather the throttle greatly out of the hole. Still averaging about 18 mpg combined highway/city (mostly city) which I'm happy with.
