Just a little update and a few pics of my buildup.

EDIT: My old imageshack acct must have expired so replacing the pics, if I remember which pics I had here!

It's been a long process for me, but I feel like I am finally making some headway on my project and thought I'd share. I welded up some of the holes in the engine bay and painted it. I've never painted prior so it's definately not perfect but I dont think it turned out too bad considering.

I suppose these will work for before pics:

The area that is cut out on the passenger side was chopped up by a local shop so I decided to cut the area out and later I will add in panels once I have the turbo sitting back in there so I can make a template and will paint it to match.

With the new UPR Chrome-moly K-member. I couldn't bolt the A-arms in yet because UPR didn't send the "hardware kit" so I called them up, they sent it out yesterday and I just got it today. I'm going to get busy here in a few and slap them on.

Coilover kit just hanging there until I decide which brakes to go with, I'm thinking Areospace, but this guy I know keeps saying Strange! I only sprayed some Krylon on the inside of the inner strut towers, not like it'll get alot of attention lol.

UPRs 4 bolt CC plates.

Heres my Bennett shortblock

I'm going to retain the A/C and power brakes for now but will be converting to a manual rack before I start setting the motor in.

Btw, I bought some Cobra bumper covers a while back and have painted the front bumper cover but still have to do the rear. I didn't intend to make a fobra, but I loved the look of the Cobra front cover and bought a front and rear so I've decided to go ahead and complete the look with some snake badges as well. Oh well to the Fobra haters out there. All I have to say, is that if it can't keep up with a stock cobra then I have bigger issues to worry about!

I still have a long way to go and I've talked with Trans. Physicians about building the AODE for me when the time comes. He seems pretty confident that he can build me one that will work!

Hope you guys like it so far!

*Since my setup is drag related, I thought it would be okay to post it here, if not please feel free to move it to where it needs to be.

Thanks
Terry

I'm going to swap motors soon. I want my baby back on the road as soon as possible but you just set me back. I'll kick myself if I don't at least paint it. If I go your route it'll be out of commision for a few more months.
Looks really good. Did you fill the holes yourself? If so, how long did it take?

Haha, I hear ya bro!

Thanks for the compliment. I am not a the best welder, so I immagine if I were better and had a better welder it would have gone alot quicker, but all in all, it wasn't too bad. It really didn't take more than a few days just working on it for about 3 hours or so each day ( I am really guessing because it's been a while since I did it). Like I said, I'm sure if your pretty good, it might not take you half as long as it took me. I just welded on it until it then did some grinding on it until looked good to me.

Thanks, I took some pics but my camera is a cheap one and they turned out blurry. I'll take some more pics when I decide which brakes to go with and get them in.

Thanks guys!

I've decided to go with the Strange Drag brake setup and braided line. I am just going to do the front for now, then when I start working on the rear and I'll tackle the rear accessories then.

I'm having to buy my front rims/brakes together to get a discount so I'm about half way there. I'll post more pics when they come in.

Still waiting on some more parts that should be here by the weekend but here are just a couple recent pics.

The strange brake setup for 94 - 04 retains the factory hubs and spindles so I had to clean up my stock stuffs!

These are my new front wheels. I gotta go pick up my tires tomorrow. The long studs should be in early next week so I have until then to get the brakes mounted on the car and I'll get more pics then.

Yea, that's the combo but I have to admit, I didn't choose it, I let Bennet make the call.

Thanks again, man.

The Strange brakes are really nice. I always liked Strange 'cause of the great craftmanship.

Anyway, I dropped the rearend off to a well recommended chassis shop to get built with the big old style 9" housing ends, narrowed 6" or 3" on each side along with 35 spline mosers, spool and 3:55 gears. From the way he described it he will brace the rear like you've seen done to a 9" housing (2x3" channel welded to the rear of the tubes and onto the housing but stopping with just enough room to be able to remove the cover. He described a bar with adjustable ends on it to connect the brace over the cover so tension could be applied to the support. I will post pics when I get it back in about 2 weeks or so.

I also ordered the rear strange brakes and the rear Bogart R/Ts. I will probably have to wait until after Christmas to get my tires.

what size front wheel studs did you buy for your car? i had what i thought were correct for the sn-95 fronts but they were too large for the hubs.

Here is the part # MOR 46185 they are 1/2" -20 wheel studs those are the longer studs that require open end lug nuts. I bought them from a local shop - Race Car Engineering - (863) 859-5438

I blame it on the turbo. Seriously though, this project has been in the works for I'd say... 2 years or so, probably longer but I don't want to admit that .

I had a '90 coupe that I could barely aford any parts for when I was younger. I was able to get a used E cam, a used set of iron GT-40s that the guy didn't think was any good and well I have a better job now, so I don't want to have to buy things 2,3 and 4 times over if I don't have to..... even though, I still may have to on some things!
