got this for $300!

Since my old GT was pretty well beyond repair, my search was on for another foxbody. Three weeks ago I got a text, asking if I had any interest in a 92 mustang that was in storage and for sale, asking price was $300! I agreed to buy it sight unseen. Here's what I got, 92 coupe ex-4cy roller. I just put my 8.8 under it, and wheels. This is going to be a 5.0 single turbo, blowthrough carb on E85.

Wow, great find.

Now you should have lots of money left over for a nice 351w stroker.

this is going to be one of those stock block 5.0 turbo builds that runs 9.90's, or it will just come unglued while idling in the driveway. Either way I'm just going to take my time building this car, I'll be sure to update my progress.

Got the cage done and painted, it's rust oleum hammer tone black. I'm not sure I'm too wild about the look but it's done, and on to the next thing. Got a set of wild rides battle box kit on the way..

Eric at horsepower innovations built this nice piece spec'd for my build. It will be a while before I can test it, but being an expensive part of my project, I got it out of the way.

any reason you went with horsepower innovations over CSU or C&S?

Eric was highly recommend by some guys from the turbo forums. I have a friend that ran a procharger setup that ran a carb from........a company, his experience was not good and very costly. Overall Eric was just a cool guy on the phone, he answered all my questions, explained what he was going to build and why. I had to schedule 20min of time whenever we spoke to each other, just two guy shooting the crap.

Understood. I will say my good buddy had his 750 converted to e85 blowthrough by CSU and Kevin was ridiculously good. setup was nearly spot on and would be on the phone with my buddy throughout the whole tuning process, telling him exactly what to touch and how much to touch it. lol

Anyway, keep up the good work on the build!

A little bit more progress, should have the rear end and suspension in this weekend.
And the underside, at some point in time the pinion seal leaked and pretty well coated everything. Although time consuming to clean, it sure kept everything from rusting. Most places still had grey chassis primer.

Eric is a good dude and will make sure the carb operates as intended! Very happy with the carb he built for me. He had to make an adjustment after initial dyno testing, but he got it dialed in super fast and it works great!

Got off work early today so I decided to drop the engine and transmission in. I need to modify my transmission crosmember to fit the different trans. Next week I'll start fabing up the turbo cold side.

Headers fit great! Took maybe 20min total to hang them up. The crossover pipe doesn't fit very well thought. The female end is not formed correctly and won't allow the crossover pipe to connect to the passenger side header. The company is on it though working to make it right.

Finnaly got new brake lines and fittings ran to the rear end of the car. Bled the brakes solo, which is kinda time consuming when you do the rears. Anyways did some more underhood mock up on the crossover pipe, and on the cold side piping. I was able to hose it off and tow it 4 blocks to our Church's annual car show, my wife started the car show a few years ago so I was told to bring it lol. I was hoping the front springs would settle down a bit but they haven't yet.
