After a long long break from mustangs, I picked up an 88 notch about 2 years ago as a side-project. It sat in FL while I completed my overseas assignment, but I spend the time stockpiling hard-to-find pieces. My dad looked at several cars for me before I decided to pull the trigger on this. (side note, he ended up buying a 93 notch in the process that he liked so much). It has zero rust and the body is in great shape...but not much else is.
I've had my hands on it since June '16 and am using it to teach my kids how to use tools, fix things, and hopefully not to lose their temper as much as their dad does. My long-term plan is to make it a mild-mannered coyote-powered cruiser with power everything, A/C, and big brakes that I could drive around town or to the race track. I grew up drag racing, but I may dip my feet into twists and turns as I look down the road.
Here is how it looked when I got it, complete with families of lizards and spiders living in every crevice you can imagine. The wife made me put it in the garage and then bomb the whole car before she would touch it.
I'll update this build with pics and progress as they happen
