87' notch build

The car is a 1987 mustang lx. It was a 4 cylinder car but the guy was starting to do a 5.4 install with a blown 5.4, but will be getting a bigger motor than that soon. Car looked ok when i bought it...untill i got to sanding to do the body work and fix the little rust that was on the car, here comes the fun. I'll start on the body n paint pics and keep u posted as i go

just got it home.

in the garage checking out the junk, and taking off the heavy azz hood!

new 5 inch VFN pin on hood.

welded, filled, smoothed and primed the big ugly wiper hole.

fixed rust on the lower fender and a few dents.

replaced front and rear lower quarter panels.

front lower

rear lower

all the body work done and primered except the rusted out doors and waiting on flex for the bumpers(just to be safe)

replacing pass door by pulling the pins and putting on the new door, didn't line up at all so i ended up pulling the fender after all my work, lol!

driver side i did the easy way.

all back together

all the dents fixed in both doors and whole car primered

engine bay sanded, primed and painted.

old paint, but at least it has a k-member, tubular control arms and a flaming river rack n pinion.

paint. doing base/clear coat.

taped up and ready to rock n roll

painted. wet sand and buff in 24 hrs.

after being wet sanded and buffed

Starting with Suspension and rearend next.

Thanks guys! Had to do a different color combo, don't wanna be like everybody else in the parking lot. Also didn't come out bad for a garage paint job.

Love the color combo and the progress but not a fan of the hood. Keep the pics coming.

i know it says ford projects and technically it is... but, i'm going to put a LS1 on boost in it. Once its done it should be pushing around 1200-1400hp.
