66 Fairlane restmod- fuelie 5.0 out fuelie 5.8 in!

cliff notes-
Car sat in a Weld County field for over a decade. The previous owner stuffed a 390 & c6 into it but it needed A LOT of tlc

got it cleaned up, primered & running!

Tuned up the 390, a full tune up, found some buckets out of a 67 galaxy and a sheet to re-upholster the back seat.

About a year or so later I got a line on a 428 cj and impulse bought it, cleaned up the bay while I was at it.

.

I originally wanted to do an FI swap so I sold the 428 and drove home an 89 lx donor for $800!

I did my first motor job in years! gt40p heads, tfs1 cam, explorer intakes & summit 1.5" long tubes on my 100k stock short block backed to the aod that had 3k miles on rebuild.

Can't be mad at that. Bigger fan of the 428 though. But for fuel injection you made a good choice.

Got any more pics of the engine bay and interior completed?

600rwhp at 5,000 on 9lbs before needing a clutch.

Holley Dominator EFI, CNP ignition, tons of Holler EFI small parts, Dart 348ci, Ed Curtis cam/valvetrain, Precision 76mm, 4"dp, Viper T56, full MM Suspension, convertible cruiser.

New clutch and further tuning in the works.

Nice ride! I just did an EFI swap on a 70 mach for a guy, but we used the new Holley EFI with a tbi setup. Works great and he loves it over the old carb setup. So did you stay stock stroke on the windsor? I always find it too hard to use stock stroke with how cheap the stroker stuff is nowdays.

stock stroke, +.030 I decided on that to keep driveability up & fuel consumption & parts breakage down. If I get bored with this its forced induction to battle the elevation

A year and a half later....I'm back to a 200k+ mile explorer long block w an 89ho cam. This drive lines going in the 65 falcon 4 door wagon I bought for my wife. I've got another 351 roller block and some afr 185 heads and leaning to a 392 w single turbo. Cars a hoot and grabbing a power steering centerlink and ram tom and adding more plush features(ie power steering!)
