MM&FF hooked my 93coupe up w heads, cam, intake etc..!

Just got it back! They put new Edelbrock Performer heads, 3722 cam(I know, it's an e-cam), RPM2 intake, Crane 1.6 RRs and dyno tuned w SCT chip. Ramsey's Performance did the work. 305rwhp and 306 tq. Stock 145k mile bottom end. I'm sure it could make a bit more power but the stock 19lb injectors are tapped out. Not sure which mag issue it will be in yet. Here's some pics they sent me along the way.

here's before and after dyno.

I'll have an idle vid tomorrow.

Thanks MM&FF, Edelbrock and Ramsey's Performance!

Dyno tuned/stock 19lb injectors 305rwhp/306tq.

Wow, up to 4k that curve shows the stock heads had more Hp and TQ than the HCI???

Glad I didn't put an RPMII on my street car

Just looking at that area under the curve and how long it takes to get up there in Hp and TQ, I think that intake is not optimized to those heads IMHO.

My ported Cobra intake with AFR165 heads has over 300 ft-lbs of torque from 3000 RPM all the way to 5300 RPM as a comparison.

Not ragging on your combo but I think this dyno furthers the case that a well ported Cobra/GT40 intake as a great choice compated to an RPMII.

Sweeeeet ride man. Nice, clean, and stock looking. I love it.

I used to be legit. I was too legit. I was too legit to quit. but now I'm not legit. I'm unlegit. And for that reason, I must quit.

Cool.

.... and what is the back story?? Did MM&FF just do this out of the kindness of their hearts, or was it because one of the shops doing the work is getting ad space and advertising credits go out the Performance Parts suppliers as well?

I just happened to meet the editor at the track. He liked my car and said he would give it HCI as a project car. I stayed in touch and over a year later here we are. I think Edelbrock provided most of the parts but I'm not sure. I really don't know much about how and who paid for parts.

here's an idle vid.

That's awesome that you got freebie and explains the part selection. Did they give you a warranty?

Can't what to see if they use the STD or SAE numbers in the mag article

It would be awesome to have a ported Cobra/GT40 intake slapped on that combo along with the regular RPM and see if it picked up power on the bottom end so you got gains everywhere over what you had instead of just over 4k+.

Unless you have a dyno in your garage you are not going to notice 1-2 horsepower and 9 lb-ft. of torque missing on the bottom end

How about the 40-80hp gain on the top, will I feel that?? I can't believe these guys that won't trade 2-3hp down low for a gain like that. You can't even floor it in first gear on the street, so who cars about the little loss there, on the shifts you never go back down there again.

Because I think with a ported Performer or Cobra intake I think he would have gained more than a 2-3Hp.

I got way more than that across the board with my set-up and had starting numbers very close to the OP with my GT40X stuff.

It's great he got stuff for free but if we are going to show before and after comparisons (like will be done in the magazine article) then the discussion comes up as to what it the best combo. This project was done in an effort to sell parts so why not discuss pros/cons of said parts combo?
