Project SHDWFOX 1986 Saleen #50
Okay well I figured I would post up some pictures of the project that I just finished (if a mustang project can ever be classified as finished). We bought this car 8 years ago and on the way home the crank cracked in half and the engine was destroyed. We had big plans of twin turboing it and getting it back up and running. Well with other projects in the way it found its way just sitting in the driveway. Year after year we would make goals to start/finish the project and at one time we had it running but never got it running like we would have hoped and never driven. I left for 2 years after finishing my 1990 Mustang and got home and decided to sale that and buy something practical a SVT Focus lol. After awhile decided I wanted something fun and fast again so I decided I would take on the resto project. I decided I would strip the whole thing down and start from scratch, and that is what I did. I started the project at the end of 2009. Stripped it all out and found somebody to paint the car TK Customs out of Utah. I also had a friend that decided to do a engine swap in his 2002 saleen mustang and so he decided he would sell me the S281 SC engine out of his car to pay for some of the parts for his swap. Well needless to say I purchased it and decided that was the powerplant I would go with. I recieved the painted vehicle in the spring of 2010. They left everything off so that I could run all the wires and not have to worry about scrathing the fenders ect. I stuffed the engine with a T56 attached to it. At the time of install my brother was building a 1993 Cobra and so I decided I would love disc brakes all the way around and bought all that stuff from him. After getting everything in the car it was back to paint. They again had the car till the middle of spring of 2011. I got it back and went back to work, but had to but it on the side burner again to get married. After the long hiccop I got back to work with a goal to get it done by the spring on 2012. I work hard and I'm sure my wife hated me for giving more time to the car then to her. I got everything running and driving finally in the spring of 2012. Acouple weeks ago I realized that the original saleen shocks were done and so had to find some which i did 2 days before I had to head out to a car show in Steamboat Springs CO. Swapped those out and it was back to the races. There are a few things that I stll need to work out but I'm glad to anounce that after a long time coming it is good to go

A couple of those pics are almost spectacular, but the camera needed a flash (the mustang is too dim).
The car looks great, great post. Now spend some time with your wife.
