any ideas on how to send money across country for a motor

So I have a motor for sale and a member is going to purchase it, What would be the best way to send money as we dont know each other , other than the few phone calls and emails. I want both of us to be at ease with the transaction, The motor will be shipped as soon as I get payment with a tracking number but i understand the concern from both of us. Paypal is one way but with the new 3 % it kinda sucks.
Any ideas??

Western Union. It's the fastest way to get your ass ripped off, followed closely by money orders.

Tell him you ebay buyer protection. Then tell him to send you 5k and you'll send the change back.

Or you can tell him to send me the money and I'll work as paypal free of charge. Once you ship him the motor, I send you the money.*

* It may be a bit short as I need beer money.

One $.99 birthday card, one stamp + motor money in cash and wait on the mail. He could insure it if he wants.

Nope, can't insure money. That is what a money order is for. It's insured money.
