NEED HELP! Is my truck tuned or not? Need some experince!
Okay I picked up the truck about 3 weeks ago, when i bought it i was told by the owner it had a diablo chip in it. I been driving it and it runs great. I decided to hook up my scanner to it just to check a few things out on it. Well it wont connect to the OBD II, it plugs in just wont connect. So i start checking fuses and relays. Turns out the number 2 or 3 relay the one for the OBD II port/ cigratee lighter and something else relay is missing. Than to day i lay down and can see the black factory ford cover on the back of the computer is still there. That is the spot I thought a chip should be. Now the truck runs great never popped or sputtered or anything. I will list the mods, I don't think it would run worth a crap without a tune for the mods i have. Also could it of been tuned with a hand held and i just didnt get it when i purchased the truck?
It has: #6 pound lower Airaid CAI MSD coil packs Dyna tech longs and X-pipe Magnaflow mufflers Cogged pullies Aftermarked heat exchanger and overflow tanks Also believe it has a after market upper pleumen. Any tips or help thank you very much kind of scares me so far. I talked to a tuner and all he says is bring it in so he can make his money on it! |

It's really hard to tell with the equipment you have. If the thing has a Predator tune on it or something like that there would be little way of knowing without some spendy equipment and software.
that the OBDII port is not seeming to work doesn't make me think there is or is not a tune on it. It makes me think there's a bigger problem. The missing relay is trippy too. Take it to the tuner and let him look. He'll at least have the gear and skills to sort out your 3 mysteries. Either that or he can call in the Hardly Boys.
