VicTOR JUNIOr 2v Intake

I'm currently running the mods in my sig with an aluminum flywheel and driveshaft. I have the suspension set up for drag racing and right now I'm running a 150 shot on a window switch. I've heard that the Vic Jr loses power on bolt on cars at the bottom and makes a little more up top, but I've also heard that's debatable. I've seen a few posts with cars that were just bolt on's but also running a 125-150 shot and they liked the manifold quite a bit with the nitrous. Problem is I haven't seen many comments on the exact feel of the manifold at low end and at high end, and the one that I seen saying that the low end dropped off had stock gears. I have 4:10's and although I don't want to take a hit on the low end while n/a, I wouldn't mind sacrificing a minimal amount in exchange for a little more up top, which is where you're at when you're drag racing anyway. If anybody with a similar setup could give some answers/opinions on this stuff that would be great and also tell me what you think about the gains with the manifold while on the spray. Eventually I'll be going full build with either a 250 shot or a Vortech, so I'll need the manifold sooner or later. Also I have 2 bad injectors so I'm replacing my injectors and the Vic Jr manifold only works with the Edelbrock rails if I recall correctly, but the Edelbrock rails don't fit the stock manifold. So now wouldn't be a bad time to do it all together if it's worth it, but if the low end hit is too much I'll wait. Thanks.

I ran one of those intakes, didnt like it. I have Comp 270 cams with TFS heads and 11:1 compression and the car didnt move until 5k! I lost 20ft/lbs across the board with the Vic Jr NA. I put the pi back on and only lost 3rwhp! The only benefit i had with the vic jr is it made power to 7k where the pi dies around 6400.

You need big ass cams and boost to get the full benefit of the jr 2v intake.

My engine is fully built with big cams (COMP 278EX) 11.2 TO 1 and a quarter inch more stroke with Fox Lake stg 3 heads. 4r75w and 410 gears. I didn't like the dino number I saw. I know things change from day to day. But when I saw a loss of 2 tenths minimum with good air (985 DA ) . Best air I had ever tested in. I went back to a P51 and the times came right back.

Are you saying you lost 2 tenths in the quarter with the eddy intake?

Also, if I may ask, what did your setup make on the dyno? Ours is dangerously similar and I'd like to know. We can pm if you want to.

dyno numbers

I only did my starter tune on the dyno. Can't remember torq but hp was 389. Through track tuning the car has picked up about 4 tenths . I tkink now about 415 hp. Ya I was down 2 tenths with the eddy. Pulled hard on the big end but not enough to make up for the loss in the 60 ft.

TFS is similar to the bullitts. I'd prefer bullitt or TFS over the Eddy

Victor loses a ton on the bottom and midrange vs the P51 and beats it by a little up top.

Bunch of new stuff lol.

I found Calico Coatings that wil thermal coat the intake inside and out to help insulate the aluminum intakes so they don't heat soak so bad.

Bunch of new stuff lol.

it will protect from radiant heat but aluminum will still get heat soaked no matter what
