"Service Engine Soon" light just lit up on my '99. EDIT: Got code "P0172"

EDIT: "P0172" Bank 1 Rich came out
What's goin on with my car? I just got this car recently. Passed smog & did a Mobil-1 oil change less than a month ago. 72,xxx on the odometer right now. Car runs great as I just got 290 miles out of my last fill up. It drives the same as it always has, just the light came on all of a sudden. I don't really beat on the car, just cruising most of the time. Only thing I did different was put in some 7eleven gas yesterday. I usually run Chevron or Shell. Service light came on this morning Any suggestions/opinions would be appreciated

idk the meaning!! but it is the egr pressure sensor.. has two vaccume hoses running to it from the egr tube. the tent to get clogged. replaced many of them on 99 and up fords.. they consist of a egr below threshold, or system lean bank 1 and 2 codes....

Do this before you do anything else. It's all just wild speculation until you know what the the codes are.

Code "P0172 System too rich (bank 1)" came up when I tested the car twice. Key on engine off & engine running. Is this most likely oxygen sensors? Which would be bank 1?

2002 GT with same issue

My autozone analysis was "bank 1 and 2 too lean. Store clerk said probably Mass Air Sensor. Car runs fine and no performance loss. Plan to clean MAS or replace.

Found the problem, hose running to valve cover vent had a cut on the underside causing vacuum leak. Bought $1.50 piece of hose and fixed it. Removed the battery cable which reset the light to off. Check all vacuum lines.

A vacuum hose will not cause a rich condition. It would cause a lean one. Without seeing the fuel trims I would guess you have an O2 sensor issue.

BTW a DPFE is a Differential Pressure Feedback for Egr. Basically it measure how much EGR gas is entering the engine.
