01 Cobra Bumper or 03 Cobra Bumper???

I can't decide...the 99-01 is pricey being that no one makes an aftermarket version. But I kinda like the looks better...but the more I look at the 03/04 bumper the more it grows on me. Plus the price difference between the 2 is substantial...enough to buy me an aftermarket 03 cobra rear bumper! Which doesn't say Cobra...which is a good thing in my case! Thoughts anyone? Pics of a GT with a 01 Cobra front bumper would be great! I've googled it...but only get 03/04 results

What hood do you have? Doesn't the 03-4 Cobra front bumper/hood work together and leave a gap when used with GT/V6 parts? I remember seeing that posted a few years ago when it came out.

Wow thats a big hood!!! Thanks for the pics...and I have the stock 04 GT hood which I like. Not really wanting to change hoods...but it seems most guys just move the top mounting holes back and it seems to avoid the gap issue. Can anyone with personal experience confirm that? Any pics of a 03/04 bumper with a stock GT hood? Thanks guys!

i hate the rounded style of the 03-04 bumper. i'm actually on an in-active lookout for a 99/01 front bumper, i just love how they sit

Long story but the wife cracked up my front end so since I needed a new bumper and hood I worked with a very cool body shop to put on a 03-04 Cobra bumper and hood. The bumper is aftermarket and the hood is OEM.

I'll get some pics up for you, need to take a few... The car looks sweet, I really like how she turned out...

That is correct. You pull the cover back past the edge of the hood and drill and rivet it in. It also helps to use small headed rivets.

Pics would be great...also do I need a grille delete kit still? LRS has a kit for $899 that has the bumper, hood, foglights and bezels. Plus $135 for freight for everything isn't that bad if you ask me. My hood needs repainted anyway...and my scoop is already a different color then the metal of the hood. So I might just go that route....uhhhhhh too many decisions

Mine sits high as as there's no motor in her at the moment but i like the 03/04 bumper on my 01gt. I have a billet grill but i took it off for now, also my n2o purge is right where the horse was.
I didnt do anything to the stock gt hood or cobra bumper to get them to fit...

I'll try to get some pics up for you soon. Try to take some tonight. Yes I have the grille delete kit with just the Mustang in the middle.

$899 for the entire kit sounds like a good deal.

My bumper looks like 559's below but I have the Mustang in the grille and obviously the cobra hood.

559, Bumper looks good. I like the wheels, why type and size are they? Looks like it is time for some new headlights. Those things are such a PITA to keep looking nice...

i like the 99/01's better. my buddy just bought a 99 and wants the 03/04 front bumper so he's going to buy that and hook me up with his stock one super cheap. they are hard to find for sure.

just throwing this out there too, if you want to get those headlights fixed rather than buy new ones i can restore them to brand new and warranty them for life against fading out again. pm me for more information if your interested.

I say a 03/03 bumper looks better all around. But the 99/01 does look more aggresive.

I have a 03 bumper on my 00 GT.

I have the 01 cobra nose on my 02 gt and the 99/01 cobra uses the same fog lights without splicing anything.

The one thing I really like about the 03/04 is the big opening. I just went to a front mount intercooler and could use all the cool air I can. But the 99/01 looks like the opening isn't much bigger than the stock GT if any at all?!? But 559's does look good to me with the stock GT hood and the 03/04 bumper.

99-01 cobra bumper with 03-04 fog lights FTMFW. The 99-01 fog lights suck. The 03-04 bumper bulges too much for my taste. I like how the 99-01 accents the top half by opposing it. The 03-04 just looks added on. I prefer the look of the earlier bumper...

what it looked like before the work...

The wheels and tires for the black gt/cobra are 18x9in all around. All chrome mach1 knock replicas wrapped in nitto 555 & 555dr's out back. Its sittin high because theres no motor atm. Also it sits with about 2 fingers worth of gap between the tire and fenders with the complete 03 cobra suspension swap(everything). I am swapping it all out for new goodies from QA1 & BMR fabrication.

Well after much internal debate and finally the highly trained eye of the "big boss" I ordered a 01 Cobra front bumper cover today! So I can't wait to get that painted and installed...quick question how hard is it to bolt the 03/04 foglights into a 01 bezel? The "big boss" and I both agree that the smooth clear lens on the terminator setup looks better. Man do I love having a wife that loves Mustang's too

i just picked my 99/01 bumper up and traded a guy my GT bumper/fogs plus $150 for it. best part is, its already painted to match my car, and i didn't have to unload my old bumper. we just met in a parking lot, swapped up, i handed him the cash, and we left.

what are the differences between the 99/01 and 03/04 fogs? can someone post high res pics to show? i think that the fogs i have are a VAST improvement over the GT's fogs. i HATED those things!

Ya know....first I tried to help you by offering to take that hideous Cobra bumper cover off your hands. But you declined...now your in here rubbing it in my face that I had to pay $475 for my cobra cover and you paid $150 PLUS it already is painted to match your car!!! I'm not sure we can be friends...

Just messin whitcha man...killer find! Some of you guys have all the luck...as far as the fogs. Check out this link...http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...ad.php?t=86677

Back in 2002 I bought a Ford Cobra bumper and Ford Cobra R air splitter. I have a black 200o GT with the entire 2000 Cobra R front end. Bumper, splitter, hood..etc. I was looking it up for the hell of it the other day and a real Ford Cobra R splitter is next to impossible to find. Hope I never reck mine. Glad to know though that not many cars look like mine.

Yep.. old thread from the dead.

Here's my 99 GT with 99-01 Cobra Bumper/Hood. After a lady messed up my car, I told the shop I wanted a 99 Cobra Hood instead of a fake hood scoop GT hood..well they accidentally ordered a 99 Cobra front clip too (YAY! to my suprise). They asked "are you ok with that?" Why hell yes I was ok with that!

IMO the 03-04 cobra bumper looks like crap without an intercooler behind it. The 99-01 looks way better.

mine has the mach chin on it as well. it was a PITA to put in on though cause it's shaped differently. i put it on using bolts instead of push pins. i started at the center, and worked my way outwards, shaping the chin as i went. it came out perfectly aligned with the bumper. i think i wound up using about 20 bolts though

i can't tell from your pics but from what i can see, yours still isn't 100% flush at the edges (i remember how hard that section was). mine took me a few hours to do, and i was very meticulous about it, but it came out perfectly. i need to get my bumper repainted next week, i hope that they don't need to remove the chin

Wow this is an old one....gotta say after having the 01 Cobra on mine for some time now. I did make the right decision...the Termi just doesn't look right to me. But I gotta agree with Jerry...you guys keep rockin the Termi bumpers. Makes my 01 look better and better
