I've been talking with Miguel over at VRS exhaust about a set of 3" tailpipes for my '92 coupe. I mentioned the pros/cons of the Flowmaster tailpipe design and was told if I could get a group buy of at least 10 sets they would make them. So essentially they will be a full 3" mandrel bent tailpipe with the needed clearance for larger tires but with the hideous weld hidden from sight. I'm new to this "group buy" thing so I'm not sure how this all works but if any of you can enlighten me that would be great. Anyone interested?
Super nice guys, fast shipping, great looking product, but my set fit like crap! I had to trim off 3/4" off the drivers tip cause it stuck out so far and i'm gonna have to do a little fabbing on the pipes that go up over the axle. Seems like they weren't bent tight enough and hits everything but they still look 100 times better than the flowmaster ones!
They do look better than flowmaster, but I had to sell mine because the fitment was so bad. I don't know if it was the car or what but I just did not like the way they looked.
It wasnt your car. They fit horrible. I had to shorten on tail pipe and the piece that goes from the muffler to the tail pipes I ended up just throwing it in my scrap metal bin and made my own. now they fit correct. so i paid almost $300 for a set of tail pipes.......Disappointing imo
Has the quality suffered on these? It just seems like everyone was posting nothing but positive comments, the more recent posts there has been some that were frustrated with fitment? Also, are these aluminized or stainless steel?
I spoke to him yesterday, he still sells them. Has anyone bought a set recently? Just wondering how the quality is now. Like someone mentioned above, everything thought they were the greatest thing ever when they came out, but some of the later comments have me worried.
Interested in hearing as well... I don't see the tailpipes or really much for Mustang's on his website, but perhaps he never had them listed on his site? Certainly has a lot of older, random, Japanese stuff... I can't believe that there are many NX2000's running around in comparison to Mustang's, lol!
For the guys with the cobra bumper, are you experiencing the tail pipes pushing up against the bumper? they got some force against the bumper. they arent bowing or flexing the bumper, but seems close to.
Im thinking about cutting the hanger and adding 1/2" or so to relieve some pressure.
