Manual rack conversion advice on a sn95

I am in the the middle of rebuilding my car. I have a 96 Gt. I need some advice on the options I have when it comes to the Manuel rack setup. I already have bump steer tie rod ends.

I was searching and reading on the subject but it looks like everyone just spends the $500 and gets a flaming river kit.

I read someone used a "mustang 2" rack and it worked. Just needed a adapter for the shaft. He just didn't go into detail.
