Lightbulb Tremec 3550 Upgrades

Hello,

I'm looking into upgrades for my 3550. I know the tcase dimensions are the same as the TKO, so I wanted to do something like that when my tranny blows.

I currently bought a used TR-3550 and I have little information on where it came from. The owner i bought it off of, said it came out of his friends SN95 mustang and that he had bought it new as an aftermarket transmission. Then the car was crashed/motor blew and he gave the tranny to his friend with a fox mustang. The owner said he used it for about 100 miles when he tuned his fox.

So over the holidays I did an AOD to 5speed conversion. It runs good and hard, I just assume it will blow up one day and I wanna have a good idea what my options are.

One of my questions is, if I do upgrade to something like the 500/600 TKO, do I need to upgrade to the 26 input shaft? What all can be changed? I would like to suit the tranny for road racing/autox.

There is so much BS to search through on the Internet. I though this would be a good place to start my search. I will report what I find here re this matter.

Thanks,
Tyler
