Question What are the differences between an A9L & an A9M EEC-IV ?

What's the difference(s) between a A9L and a A9M ECMs ??

They are both for 5.0 5-speed mass air cars.. I personally think all those computers are the same.. A9P is automatic

Just found out the A9M is for Automatic cars and A9L is for manual cars.

My car is a Manual and has a A9M ECM. ???? What gives ???

u sure u do not have an A3M computer. thats a 5-speed computer that came in a 93 mustang V8 ???

A9L is for manual also

A9P is for auto

I also found this info......

A9L's and A9M's interchange and dont really care what transmission they have. I believe the A9M has a little bit higher idle strategy than the A9L so it may idle a little different when in a 5spd car, but other than that they do not affect driveability or performance,
