haha we've never run 3... he'll still have no idea what she'll run since we couldnt keep the nose down at SGMP and had some carb issues at MIR friday

Your engine compartment is very smoothed out did you use body filler to get it that smooth? Have you had any issues cracking body filler if that was what used? And when i say cracking i mean from launching when car is under serious load or coming down from wheel stand

There was some sort of filler used, but I don't know the type at all. I was "told" that what was used will hold up to the stresses you're talking about. I haven't noticed cracking yet, but I really don't have too many passes on the car, and the passes that are on the car were with a motor that made decent power but nothing close to the power this current motor does. I'm talking once things are sorted out there will be close to a 500hp difference. So we'll see once I start pouring the coals to the car.

It's 460"ish" I don't know to be honest with ya. But it's between 460-470" I believe, at least hat's what I as told. When I take it down for a freshen up I'll get the full scoop on it from the man himself.

No this motor belonged to a guy named Rome and both Skinnyman and Barry Mitchel both ran it (the white hatch car). Ricky got his SBX motor straight from Fulton. I talked with him about it, his is wet sump and mine's dry. I'm not sure which version of the heads are on it either. I know mine are the "older" ones.

It's now dropped off and getting scaled and aligned I hope everything checks out and I hope to have it out this friday.

Congrats on the hit! Is that a PB to the 1/8? Looks like you guys have some room there too. Haven't you guys been a 1.16? Hell, even if you just took those numbers off the back you're looking at the .80s. But if you carry it out, that should be roughly low .80s! Time to start thinking about the 3rd system. ;-)

I think it's funny that you ran in the 7's dumping it! lol Out the back by my math would have been roughly 180mph.

yea the new carb we have is having some issues for sure in the 60... once the 2nd kit comes on all hell breaks loose starts to power wheelie.

Well, it was ready for Friday, and I got to make 4 passes. Nothing earth shattering, and I need to really look at the data from the racepak. But one thing is for sure that motor will make crazy power!

Best pass of the night was 5.39@129 with a 1.22 60'. But I think that 60' was with the rear tires.

What I found pretty amazing was the fact that I was hitting the car with NOTHING nitrous wise, and I had taken away an 1" of front end travel and tightened the shocks up by 2 clicks compared to the last motor that was in the car and the car STILL wanted to pull the wheels a good 2' on the hit. This feel thing is going to be locked down with no travel and struts full tight before it's all said and done.

Had the car out again yesterday. There really wasn't too much progress.... This thing is quite a bit different. Yes it makes more power, but the thing is the converter. I think the thing is fighting me a little. trying to run on one system isn't going like I thought is was going to.

Well, had a personal best last night. actually a couple of them got a new best 60'

went a 1.163 and went 5.09@137 on 1 system.

Found out, well, had thing make some sense after the trans broke yesterday. It explained why we haven't been able to do anything with this new combo!!! We'd give it more power only to have it slow down. Anyway, the trans let go, due to band failure, which really boogered up the drum, and it also burnt up the 1st gear clutches.

Pulled it out at the track and one of the races we race with took it and rebuilt it a matter of a couple hours and we were able to get it back in an still make a couple hits before the end of the night.

As I wrote, first hit after the rebuilt trans was a 1.16 60' 5.09@137. Still running on the one. Backed it up with a 5.14@136 with a 1.18 60', but we kinda shot ourselves in the foot on the second hit. The nitrous bottle was only like a 1/4 turn open. So it wasn't flowing NEAR what it should have and it still made a pretty goo hit.

Things are looking better!!!

If you need a trans built call Mike Bruce, he owns Southern Maryland Transmission, you prly passed his shop on the way to the track, he's right in LaPlata on 301 by Wawa and advance auto parts.

Thanks, even though sat was a bit frustrating we did learn a few things. I think we're going to try a couple new things the next time out. If they work, we should REALLY be on to something. Fingers crossed!!!


I don't know what you're talking about... he's turbo guy, with the amount of transmissions he's been though, what's not to trust!

Thats cool man, Mike is a good guy, he does quite a few of the local guys trans. We just had him do one for a ranger build we are doing.
