9.xx is it possible???? Upate....
So I'm wondering if theres a 9.xx pass in this car. Let me know what you think...
car weighs about 2800 lbs with me in it 306, ported edelbrock heads, vic intake, tfs3 cam, 4800stall converter, 3.73 gear, 28 in tire, 100 shot of spray foot brake to 1500 and hammer the gas on the yellow, it goes 1.4x 60ft and 10.71 at 129mph on a 100 shot Add in a transbrake up to about 3000-3500 and come off the brake spraying a 150 shot, think it has the nuts to go high 9's what do you guys think???? your 100% right but, the car runs 12.3 with the nitrous tune not spraying. So it picks up 1.5 s with a 100 shot.
So .70 would be reasonable with a 50 shot one would think. And probably pick up a few coming off the t-brake instead of foot brake. |

You're not going to get it with what you have listed. It's going to need more sauce.

with your current MPH (and mine) it should already be in the low 10's. I know I'm slow on the 60" and up to the 1/8th (slow shifting) but you've got a decent 60'. You might need to analyze your slip to figure out where you're slow and work on that. Then your additions should put you in the 9's.

went to the track today and picked up 3ths leaving off the brake. Went 10.40 at 132. Still only 100 shot. Back again tommorow and I'll try 150 shot if eliminations dont run too long.

My only issue with that is the motors got a hyperutectic piston in it. I'd like them to stay where they are. Maybe a piston and rod upgrade is needed for next year. probably up the compression to about 12:1 or so.

132 mph is getting it done with that combo for sure. The extra 50 shot will help in the sixty foot department if you are already hooking that is. I think you will be borderline 10.00s-10.10 or so on the 150 hit based on what you have run so far. Get some more weight off the nose and get it to hook better and you just might get there.

I was kinda thinkin the same thing. Car hooks pretty good for what it is, never spun the tires off the line yet. I come off the brake on spray thanks to the way i have it wired. As soon as the brake releases, the nitrous sprays providing its WOT Eliminations ran late so I never got a chance to hit it 150 but i will be back oct 14th weather permitting and we shall see. Not too sure what more I can do for weight at this point, rebars are gone. tube rad support, tubular k member, etc etc Car tips the scales with me it at 2750 Im a portly 155 lbs after dinner and a shower |

it can be done....i knew youd pick up a lot leaving on the brake too. that mph of 129 is good for 30's, 40's. hyper pistons are no good on spray and if you have a stock block id upgrade that too with the rods and pistons.
id hate to see you grenade and possibly tag the wall or worse. literally......cause i run osca too so id probably see it happen. see you at the races buddy....its a long winter ![]() also...see my sig.....thats why i say you can hit 9's on a 150-200 shot.

Heads are edelbrock rpm's, ported and polished by PSP racing. I had 150 shot jets in it for that pass. |

I was a little worried about hitting it with 150 too, but it worked, and still runs, so I cant complain. Already been talking to Paul about a 351 W based motor, maybe a stroker, Hopefully Santa will bring the wife what she want so I dont have to pay for it. It was a fun year tho, getting my feet wet in O/C and 10.90, first year with this setup in this car, gotta get a little more consistant with the trans brake and hopefully 10.90 will thin out next year. See ya at the track next year |
