Cut GT rear springs...

If anyone has pictures of cut rear springs or could snap me a quick shot with details on how much was cut from them i would really appreciate it. I'm running a 28" tire with 15x10 6.5 backspace and i would like to see similar setups so i can get a rough idea of where the car is going to sit. I was thinking of taking one coil out.

if you cut one coil you will have to roll your fender lips. But with a half you will be fine. Mine is cut half coil and fender is about an inch above tire. 1.38 60fts with half a coil cut

My fenders are rolled and completly smoothed on the inside, and the rear is narrowed 1/4'' so the tires tuck in pretty nice. Thanks for the info, any pictures?

I told you already. Start with half a coil. Go from there. You can always cut more off. But its a bitch to JB Weld em back together!

Cut 1 full coil if your fenders have been roled and you have tire clearance,

in this video there is a shot of what the spring looks like at 3.03 minutes into the video!

well that sux! I cut down my V8 springs 1 1/4 coil but thought I screwed up my launch ability and purchased a pair of Eibach Drag Launch rear springs and replaced them. LOL, the cut springs had netted me a better 60ft (and gave the car a better stance), guess it's time to swap them back!

here is a pic of the cut V8 spring, same car in both pics (but it's not a GT)

and here is uncut V8

I finished nut and bolting the rear last night and i just need to get the hood back on and bleed the rear brakes. Would have gotten it done sooner but a tornado came thru and delayed things with the car a little bit.

Are you looking for pics with the radial or the slick?

Team Z Strip series #1 + strange 10 way shocks + stock springs with 1 coil cut = 1.20 sixty foots on a 275 radial(on a test and tune track) with the car in the video!

Stock springs with 1 coil cut rock!

Just cut mine, did 1 coil in the rear and 1 1/2 in the front, threw them in, happy with the ride, I have KYB adjustables though so defiantely helps, also the front is temporary as I'm ordering up a K-member and coilovers for the front in about 3 weeks but wanted this thing dropped so took the 20 minutes to cut them and threw them on in about 90 minutes

Love the look now

Yes, my rear is worth mentioning

1/4'' per side, but with the slicks i run the 1/4 spacer so it will look exactly like a stock width rear.

When i run the radials i dont run the spacer, but the slicks are a little bigger and get into the inner fender by just a hair.

Its hard to say right now, last year i had head gaskets that were leaking and i wasnt aware of the problem until i took the motor apart to change the cam. It ran hot like that and i thought it had something to do with the bumper. I'll see how it goes this year

Just an update, car does not overheat, and i have a good ammount of miles on the setup and it usually runs at 180, if its a hot day maybe more like 190-195. The key for me was to put a 80's ranger/bronco radiator air deflector on it. Without that the radiator gets no air
