Are 2-steps considered 'electronics'?

Can you use a two step in a non-electronics class?
More specific, what if it's hooked to the clutch/brake/nuetral safety switch, and your still leaving off the foot brake?

The new camaro's have a factory 2 step!

No they are not considered electronics in the rule book. Electronics means delay devices or other things that help you run your et.

The basic ORIGIN of the rule is to controll the use of a throttle stop butterfly or a trans brake timer.
some tracks have altered or added to this any installation that also controlls launch rpm or shifting other than what is done mechanically / internally.

it depends on your track and what they REALLY know or understand about what can be done.

many do allow a trans brake...but with no rpm controll device or delay .

when a track calls the class a "footbrake" class grouping, this pretty much does not allow any rpm controll of trans other than what you can hold back with a footbrake...
when most other competitors hear your late modle stage with the engine "missing" (thus up on the rev limiter) ..they will say that it is not allowed....

many tracks are now holding the rule and even if the car came with the ability to do it from the factory, they do not allow it....

So if you had the car at 6200, and tapped the limiter by accident you can be disqualified? Interesting! Have to read the rules for any event I attend.
