2007 GT Shaker 500 dead CD player

Is a replacement Shaker 500 head unit from salvage yard a plug and play change out, or needs dealer programming? thanks

Many GM's need to have the VIN programmed in to work correctly. I've not seen that on a Ford. Don't know for certain, just I've not run into it.
