any of the h/c/i "kits" will get you some low 12's with traction.

I'm still about 4/10 short but a higher rpm stall torque converter, raised shift points (Baumann Optishift), and more weight reduction would get me there. Only problem is the first two would cost ~$1500 and that's without installation.

I ran an 8.5@85 mph and with a 2.2 60' time. That's about a 13.2 in the qtr or a 12.4-12.6 with a 1.7 60' time. I just run it like I drive it so skinnies, no sway bar, spare removal, etc............is out of the question. That being said, I run a 331 with GT40 cast iron heads, and a ported Cobra intake. My cam is in the 228-238 dur range and I run shorty headers with 3.73's. I'm about to bolt on Vic Jr heads, T-Moss ported RPM II intake, Comp Pro Mag RR's, and a 75mm tb. I want to run 7.9 spinning half way down the track like it would on the street.

I do agree that the poweradder is the easiest route to take to hit the 12's, but it has far more downsides. All the extra plumbing, necessary to run 93 octane all the time. Varying ethanol content of the gas can cause a lean condition that loves to eat head gaskets in hot weather, heat soak without an intercooler, good setup requires a $600 tune. Nitrous bottle pressure is difficult to maintain if the ambient temp is over 100. We have had over 50 days this year over 100. The more you use it, the softer it hits until refilled. Tons of wiring for a properly set up street kit, cooler plugs foul more often under normal driving conditions, limited window of fun time. For a street car I say do it with cubes. Really not that much more cost if using used parts than a used supercharger. I have a mild stroker and get 27mpg on the hwy with the ac blowing.

A mild H/C/I 302 could get you into the high 12's, and a mild 331 stroker could get you low 12's or even high 11's.
You don't need forced induction to get those times, and the extra HP from a nitrous kit is short-lived.

Completly stock intake to pan 148k mile , 5spd with stock clutch, a boostbrothers 67mm turbo kit, 3:55 gear 14#s and a old accel dfi gen VI, and E85.

11.70@124mph I skipped the 12's and only have $4700 in the car $2800 was the turbo kit and the rest was gear and DFI and buying the car.

New parts are on the car and tuning it now should have a track time in a few weeks. Still stock junk 8.2 deck stuff.

GT40X heads, E303 cam, Stock upper/lower cobra intakes, exhaust, 3.73's, 80mm MAF, under drive pulleys, and Nitto drag radials: 12.9@105.7. I know the car would have went mid 12's on a good tire.

I don't know about that.. I've been running an S trim with NO tune besides the MSD BTM and FMU for 6 years without having one single issue besides a melted spark plug wire..

12 psi +4.10's equals easy 12's.

I run premium all the time but in MT premium contains 0 ethanol

Before I tore into the motor I had a stock t-body to oil pan 302 with a K&N filter, 3.73 gears, 14* timing and a flowmaster catback. I ran 14.3 around 96-97mph with a 2.1-2.2 60ft on street tires.

I then pieced together a Compucar n20 kit for under $200. On a set of $90 street tires I pulled a 1.92 60ft and a 13.1 @ 107 on a 125 shot granny shifting taking my sweet time as I did not want to powershift on the juice. I had mph for 12's easily.

Now a motor that is not stock and running a 150 shot.
