Deep loud mufflers brand?

Looking for a deep rumble exhaust sounding muffler that's also loud. What brand makes them? Don't why high pitched raspy sound. Which brand offers the deepest rumble sound? With an h pipe.

Not "blowmasters"!
Larger pipes = deeper/louder note.
NO H-Xpipe will help too. (You know we have been sold a "bill-of-goods" about the benefits of X/H pipes and how they "boost" power/torque and all that crap, right?!)
Turbo style instead of chambered mufflers will = deeper and louder sound.
Straight pipes(no mufflers) sound pretty nasty!! Run them all the way to the rear valance if you want to carry on a conversation inside the car.

Believe what you want about H and X-pipes power effects, but realize that they absolutely do effect the sound and tone on your exhaust.

I have the Jones mufflers on my car.
They have a definite deep sound but the mufflers aren't as loud as I had hoped.
If you want deep and loud try magnapacks or pypes M80's.

I have h pipe and super 44 now I just wish they were a little louder and deeper. How does spintech super pro street compare? And which Mac mufflers are you referring too?

My buddy has the flow paths in his 94, sounds mean as hell, but he uses an x-pipe. I'd imagine a Prochamber would give a deeper tone

Mac flo mufflers are louder than Flowmaster 44's while keeping the deep rumble sound. I have o/r H pipe, 44's, and longtube headers. The LT headers actually made my exhaust more quiet than with shorty headers.

On another mustang, a louder and deep sounding exhaust was JBA shorty headers, Bassani o/r X pipe, and Flowmaster 44's. Loud as heck man!

My brother is running Spintechs on a 418W and it is deep, but it's also 418 inches. It never drones, but he runs 4.30 gears so it is never in the "drone zone" under cruise conditions.

the sound "depth" can have a lot to do with tube diameter. bigger exhaust diameter will help bring the tone down. The flowmaster 10's, spintechs, dynomax bullets, and a large number of other mufflers all sound good and rumbly. look all of them up on youtube, even look up the different diamters (2.5" or 3") and see if you like one over the other.

I run Pypes violators with a catted x pipe and they are loud. Can't imagine how much louder they would be without cats.
As a matter of fact I'm looking to quite my 93GT down a little. My old age may have something to do with it.

OP............I'm saying don't use an X or H pipe if low rumbly sound is what you want.
If you have a nice sounding/lopey cam the X and H tend to quiet-it-down some.
Wish I had known this BEFORE I installed an X-pipe....."like the rest of the crowd"!
The deep sounds come from large diameter exhaust/tail pipes.
Summit has a "racing type" turbo muffler. It is a little shorter than the Summit brand turbo muffler. It's pretty cheap...I would give it a try. If it doesn't work for you....you haven't spent a fortune.
Remember...you pay a lot for the name stamped on it. Try to find a Summit/Jegs "knock-off" of the same muff

I ran a 2 1/2" MAC Prochamber with MAC 1 5/8" shorties and a MAC 2 1/2" Flowpath cat-back on my old '90 GT 'vert with a B303 (back in the day) and it had a very nice sound and it screamed under throttle. It definitely sounded different than everything else. Had I built the engine to use the B303 or put a better cam in, it would have been awesome.

I would like to run this same exhaust on my '91 LX hatchback, if I keep it.

And for what it is worth.....the lope of my B303 was muffled quite a when I took the pro-chamber off and put the catalytic H on. Now some of that was the cats, but not all of it.

So many variables affect the sound of exhaust. Muffler design, tubing size and motor specifics. Just find something you like. I like the Borla XR1 but they are $$$

Best sounding exhuast I've had is;long tubes,3 inch x-pipe with 3 inch Mac flowpath mufflers. Had 2.5 before and the 3" was a good bit deeper.

Quite when cruising and loud when you smashed the Pedal.

Yet it tones down for easy driving...you can hold conversation at freeway speeds until you have to tip into the throttle....best part it scares hondas away! LOL...

H pipe will sound less raspy than x pipe. 3" will sound deeper than 2.5.

Im running 3" exhaust with H pipe and 3" Hooker Aerochambers with dumps before the axle. Get LOTS of compliments on the sound.

I chose them based off this muffler comparison.

Ford Mustang Muffler Comparison Test - 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords Magazine

I liked them so much i bought them again when i upgraded motor and exhaust.

Plus i have 3" electric cutouts when i really wanna get rowdy.

I have a pair of 2.5" Hooker aerochambers sitting around along with 2.5" electric cutouts if your interested?

PM me.

Good luck.

Has anyone tried black widow with turn downs?

I have a mild supercharged 347 with shortys, 2.5 x-pipe and cat back flowmasters which sounds ok. I also tried dynomax straight through bullet style mufflers with turn downs, but it was to raspy. Getting ready to do 5 lug swap with 315's in the back and thinking about 3" black widows with turn downs
