Question what cars came with factory 24# injectors?

Looking for some more junkyard penny pinching miracles here. Just want to know what vehicles, regardless of make, come with compatible 24# injectors

'98-'99 LS1 F bodies had 30lbs, '00 had 26 lb (that's where mine are from) and I think in '01 they went back to 30 lbs. That's a GOOD place to look. Find someone putting a vortech on, help them and snag the old "trash" injectors for free that's how I scored mine... it was either in my stang or the trash... They are working great so far with my 24lb calibrated C&L. I didn't even have to drop base fuel pressure like I thought I would.

Talking

A guy who works @ Motorsport told me that Taurus SHO cars came with 24s (the older, V6 models, that is, not sure about the new ones), of course, Cobras did, the 460 trucks, and Lincoln Mark VIIIs. Those are the only ones I know of. Just in case you're interested, Thunderbird SCs came with 30s.

I think they are 19#ers. I went to a boneyard and yanked 1 or 2 injectors from a 351 EFI truck engine. They were orange topped with a silver body. I think those are 19#ers. They also were E5TE for a part number.

Can anyone verify 1st gen SHO's as to having 24# injectors? I know where there are a couple sitting in a yard. I may have my saturday afternoon project

cool deal on the sho. i know where there is one intact at a u-pull it place. at least it was a few days ago. it provided my electric fan. i bet the injectors will fit in my pocket a lot easier than that fan did though

Your gonna need to find two SHO's since they are V6's. I am gonna grab all 12 injectors, pick the 8 best and then keep 4 as spares. Oh yeah, will the SHO's Mass Air meter for on Mustang? I mean will the electonics physically mount onto a Mustang's MAF housing? I recently found a Explorer 4.0L MAF that mounts to the Mustang houseing bu is calibratedfor 15# injectors. ill the SHO's swap over?

Anyone have any pics of the SHO's engine? I need to see where the injectors are located and what i need to remove to get to them so I can plan what tooks to take to get them out. I'm just gonna cut the wiring and fuel lines on the engine but i need to know what i need to remove to get to them. (like intake, etc)

i believe that the maf meters for most ford vehicles are the same, meaning it would'nt make any differance if you swapped elements. The computers are actually programmed for the injector size, which is part of the reason why the 24# cobra kit comes with a computer, not an maf.

all the sho's i've seen have injectors with a light red/pink top. i haven't found any confirmation on what size they are. they are not the 24# we use and i'm sure they aren't 30#ers. they are also buried underneath alot of intake plumbing.

Not all t-birb s/c's came with 30 lb/hr injectors, the 89-93 did, but the 94-95 came with 36 lb/ hr.

the 89-95 3.0 SHO had 27 lb/hr injectors.

The 98 f- series trucks 4.6/5.4/7.5L, V10 6.8L all had 24lb/ hr injectors along with the 93-98 lincoln mark VIII.

Anyone know what the t-bird turbo coupes had?
never mind they had 35lb/hr.

weren't some of those injectors low impedence or something, therefor you could not use them in a stang

89-95 Taurus SHO 3.0L V6's (5-speed cars) have injectors rated at 23.65 lbs/hr @ 2.7 BAR or 39.2 psi.

93-95 Taurus SHO 3.2L V6's (automatic cars) have injectors rated at 24.44 lbs/hr @ 2.7 BAR or 39.2 psi.

Both are high impedence injector, with a twin spray tip (for the 2 intake runners/valves).

Ford has another injector p/n E9JY-9F593-A that it used on the '91-94 Mercury Capri 1.6L turbo engine and Mazda used on the 323 GTX with the same engine. They are statically flow rated at 27.3 lbs/hr at 2.7 BAR.

92 SHO (14.82 @ 95.58 bonestock)
89 SHO (14.18 @ 99.6 - 3.2L auto motor, typical bolt ons)
89 SHO - RIP (12.91 @ 109.19 - 3.2L, NOS, some weightloss)

I doubt that you'll find one, but the 94-95 cobras came with 24#'ers stock. You can always try www.stangparts.com to see if they have any wrecked mustangs sitting around w/ 24's in them.
good luck

I know that the Merkur XR4Ti's and 87-88 Thunderbird turbo/coupe's came with 36 lb/hr injectors.
