Ok Here is my question. I can’t decide on an ignition. I know MSD 6Al is a great one. I have been looking @ The crane cams Fireball HI 6 dsr and the mallory hyfire 6. I know Msd is the most popular

They all do the same thing. MSD has the brand recognition and many additional ignition accessories. I chose the Crane HI-6 which includes the adjustable rev limiter built into the unit. No pills required (MSD system). Currently at Summit and Jegs the Crane system also includes a coil for something like $199. The 6AL is about $189 without coil. The Mallory VI does not have a rev limiter.

Car Craft dyno tested these ignitions a few months back using the same BB chevy( if memory serves me correct) the all made relitivly the same HP. There was only 1 or 2 horse differance between them. I know the Mallory made the least, and I think the Hi-6 made more than the MSD. They were testing ignitons systems that were under $200. I personally use MSD boxes, have them on 3 of my cars, very reliable.

hyfire 6 is more than $200 and it has the most features in a box of that type.
2x rev control
windows switch for NOS
boost retard
high rpm retard
timing retard for starting
all in 1 unit and has an LED display

I've heard the digital 6 is having problems being accurate on rev control. Hyfire 6 is like $220! Awsome deal
